Grittleton is a picturesque village situated on the edge of the Cotswolds and surrounded by glorious English countryside. The Grittleton Estate was formally owned by the Neeld family. Most houses are now privately owned but still maintain their original charm. Grittleton House is currently owned by the Shipp family.
The Victorian Manor House is situated in 35 acres of beautiful parkland and formal gardens and has been described as an Italianate Gothic Mansion. It boasts many original features particularly on the ground floor throughout the state rooms, library and entrance hall.
Situated within the grounds are the Old Stables & Stable Yard, the original Victorian equestrian features add to the character and charm. The sympathetically converted buildings, comprising of the Carriage House, Clock Tower, Tack Room, Apple Store and Old Stables are all arranged around the central courtyard with magnificent views of the main house and gardens.
Over the years Grittleton House has featured in many TV and film productions and used for a variety of fashion shoots and still life photography, for brochures, catalogues, calendars and advertisements.
