The House is Yours for the Day, make yourself at home as you celebrate with loved ones. With a selection of beautiful spaces, both traditional and unique, there is something to suit all tastes and group sizes. Grittleton House caters to all special occasions, including Civil Partnerships, Humanist Ceremonies, same-sex Weddings, and the Renewal of Vows. Its convenient location-just 65 steps from the stunning Grittleton Village Church, St Mary the Virgin, accessed via a private gat, makes it the perfect choice for your special day.
Grittleton House can host 126 dining guests in the Galleries and 200 seated dining guests in the Orangery. For larger weddings, the grounds make a genuinely breathtaking location for a Marquee.

Yes – Grittleton House offers several beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for licensed civil ceremonies, ideal for couples planning a romantic Cotswold wedding. To book your ceremony, please contact Wiltshire Registrars on 0300 003 4570 or email ceremonies@wiltshire.gov.uk.
Yes – with 35 acres of picturesque grounds, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Cotswolds, there’s ample space for a marquee wedding. These must be hired through our preferred suppliers, and a daily ground rent applies during set-up and dismantling.
If you're going for our Yours for A Day Wedding Package, access to Grittleton House is typically from 9am (as per your agreement) on the day of the wedding. If no event is scheduled the day before, we may be able to offer limited access between noon & 4pm for final preparations. This will be confirmed at your final run-through meeting, held 4–6 weeks prior to your date.
We have minimum catering numbers of 80 adult day guests on a Friday & Saturday & 50 for the rest of the week.
It may be possible to lower these numbers, with prior agreement, at off-peak times and late availability.
We have a range of dining spaces suited to both intimate gatherings and large Cotswolds weddings. The Galleries accommodate 108–126 guests depending on table layout, while the Orangery can seat up to 200. For larger celebrations, multiple dining rooms may be used to seat up to 400 guests in total. View our floor plan for more details.
As Grittleton House is a beautiful Grade II listed Cotswold wedding venue, we ask that decorations respect the fabric of the building. Nothing should be affixed to walls or floors. Candles are permitted on tables and mantlepieces (in safe holders), but not on the aisle or floor – we recommend safe alternatives to create the perfect ambiance.
Yes – while we offer a curated list of trusted suppliers who are familiar with Grittleton House, you are more than welcome to bring in your own favourites. We’re always happy to meet new professionals who help bring your vision to life.

Yes, your furry friends can join you for the ceremony, drinks reception, and wedding photos – a perfect touch for relaxed, countryside Cotswold wedding theme. Dogs are not allowed in the Dining or Drawing Rooms and must be collected before the wedding breakfast begins. They must also remain on a lead and under control at all times.
We have two dog-friendly Stables Bedrooms available; unfortunately, pets are not permitted in the main House Bedrooms.

There are no fresh flowers included as standard for your wedding date. However, the House is dressed with elegant silk flowers in neutral tones, complementing your wedding with that quintessential Cotswolds wedding style.
