Grittleton House is a family home, The Shipp family have lived on the estate for 50 years. Matthew Shipp says “Family is very important to us, five generations have had the pleasure of enjoying Grittleton House. It's exciting times for the Grittleton team, with lots of new ideas, some redecoration and a great line-up of professionals, 2018 is set to be a very busy year for our full-time events venue. We have a record number of weddings booked and the diary is also full with exciting in-house events, birthday parties, balls, and taster evenings. Our Burns Evening in January was a real success, so much so that we are looking to re-run this in 2019. The Alfresco Cinema night on 8 June 2018 is already proving to be really popular and we are confident that the launch of our own in-house Gin Club will go down a storm.”

We are definitely noticing that more and more brides and grooms are coming from further afield. Several of our bridal parties come from London and the home counties and some even from overseas.”

Thank you all so much for your help on our wedding day. We had the most amazing day and it was very much helped by all the hard work and organisation behind the scenes by the Grittleton Team. We were both so impressed as were our guests that commented how helpful and approachable all the staff were. Emma - you were a gem helping throughout and didny once get frustrated with us (we arent the easiest we admit with our last minute nature!) Vanessa the accommodation was spot on and Pam - so many commented how brilliant you were throughout the evening. Not once getting exasperated with the slightly tipsy guests! Thanks to the waitress that gave a guest a lift up the top! The food was delicious - the chef did an outstanding job and the barman was great. Sorry that it's taken so long to thank you all but we wanted to send a card with pics.
Grittleton is such a special house, I raelly hope many more get to enjoy it as we did.
