During the weekend of April 22nd and 23rd Grittleton House opened its doors for its Spring Wedding Showcase. It was one of our busiest open weekends ever and we were excited to welcome lots of new couples alongside those that had already confirmed their wedding dates with us. A lot of work goes into making these days an inspirational yet relaxed experience, offering a glimpse into how we can make your wedding dreams a reality.
In collaboration with our recommended suppliers we provided inspiration for ceremony set-ups, reception layouts and other types of decoration. We also invited along our recommended photographers to display their images in our Photographers Gallery and opened the doors to our guest bedrooms.
Here’s a little insight into what the showcase included.
Our aim is to showcase the various ways in which our reception rooms can be used. This time, we chose to showcase a ceremony set-up in the Red Gallery centred around the beautiful fireplace which Caroline from Foxy Buds decorated with a cascade of greenery. The room was complemented with a statement cake from Cakes by Mrs F.
The Yellow Gallery was set-up to showcase a sit-down reception with large round tables. For the first time ever, we worked alongside our recommended florists to showcase yellow flowers to reflect the room décor. From vibrant yellow roses to daffodils and lemons, the room certainly shouted “Spring Wedding” to us! Sarah from Cakes by Mrs F provided yet another beautiful cake which complemented the flowers provided by Jill Jeffries, Beaufort Blooms and the Floral Studio in Purton.
We always get so many wonderful comments about the Orangery and this year was no exception! Overlooking the Italian sunken gardens this is such a versatile space. Here you can choose to have your ceremony or your reception (or perhaps both!). During the showcase weekend we utilised the central part of the Orangery for a ceremony set-up – perfectly placed to look out over the gardens with the flower tray utilised to display the talents of Wendy House Flowers.
We also showcased not one, but TWO reception set-ups. Large round tables were decorated by The Fresh Flower Company with a backdrop of “Love” letters and a statement cake swing provided by Burnt Orange Events. Long banquet style tables were also on display and decorated by Persephone Violet showcasing lots of spring flowers and succulents. We also loved the cakes that Cakes by Mrs F displayed in the Orangery, in particular her new flower meadow cake stand!
Outside the Billiard Room, our new party room, you would have found our recommended DJs JW Disco and Eventimate and our recommended Bridal suppliers, &Wolf Bridal and Belle of the Ball provided outfits that you would have found in the entrance hall, on the grand staircase and in our beautiful Drawing Room. We were also excited for vistors to view our newly refreshed breakfast room (did you spot our new modern chandelier?!).
Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to come and visit us during the showcase weekend. Thanks also to all of our wonderful, recommended suppliers who worked so hard to ensure that this event was such a huge success.
Did you miss out on visiting? Don’t worry, our next showcase weekend will be held on October 14th and 15th 2023 so please keep an eye out for how to book tickets. We’re excited to provide you with even more ideas and inspiration and show you how the team here at Grittleton House can help to make your wedding dreams a reality. If you can’t wait until the next open weekend you are welcome to arrange a visit at a time that suits you. Please get in touch for details.
