  1. You are welcome to visit Grittleton House as many times as you want, but please ring to make an appointment.
  2. A meeting is needed 4 weeks before the event to finalise all details.
  3. At this meeting you will need to confirm final guest numbers, seating arrangements, menu, drink details etc. We will also finalise ‘the order of the day’. Please note if there are any substantial delays on the day, which are caused through no fault of our own, an additional charge will be made.
  4. An initial invoice will be sent on the basis of this meeting. Please settle ten days before the wedding day. Changes to the original numbers will however be accepted up to seven days before the event. The final invoice sent after the wedding will detail these changes and any additional costs and return the deposit.
  5. Please note the non refundable reservation fee is a payment securing your booking. A further refundable deposit is required two months later. This deposit is also non refundable if the wedding is cancelled.
  6. The normal buffet provided consists of: Quiche, Cocktail Sausage Rolls, Cheddar Cheese, Mixed Green Salad, Tomato Onion & Pesto Salad, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Branston Pickle, Pickled Onions, Beetroot & French Bread & Butter. We are happy to provide alternative or additional buffet items, any changes will however increase the cost. The buffet will be set out at the time agreed at the final meeting and will be available for one hour. Extra costs will be added if changes are requested on the night.
  7. Providing we do not have a function, the House is available from midday to 5.00pm on the previous day. This enables you to put out & check name places, table arrangements etc.
  8. Guests are requested to vacate the premises within an hour of the end of the function. We ask that the ‘families’ help with this. Bands & discos etc have 1 hour to clear – it is advisable to stipulate this when booking your entertainment. The building will be closed one hour after the function ends, any delays will result in a surcharge of £100.00 per half hour.
  9. When ordering taxis, please ensure your guests order them to arrive well before the closing deadline. After this time guests are unable to remain on the premises as the main gates will automatically close preventing any further access.

  11. Grittleton House is closed on Sundays, all presents, flowers, cakes etc should be removed on the evening of the function. If this is not possible arrangements can be made to collect the items on the following Monday. Please note we cannot be held responsible for any items that are left.

The hirer, i.e. the bride & groom will be deemed responsible for any damages that occur either to the building (interior & exterior) and/or any fixtures & fittings during the course of the function and up until such a time as all guests & vehicles have left the premises. Please note the hirer will not only be responsible for their guests but also any outside representatives that are engaged during the function – florist, band, disco, outside caterers etc.
